music review: Aoi Eir – AUBE

cover

I’m gonna keep this brief. Overall, this album is much better than her first one. It’s still got the anime-esque pop style to it but with a rockier edge that adds an interesting touch. The main complaint I had with the first album is the lack of desire to listen to it again. Only one song was worth going back to. Here however doesn’t seem the case now that I have listened to most of the tracks more than 4 times now. Aoi Eir currently holds the title of best anime vocalist to me. Song of the Planet is my favorite track by far as opposed to Sirius the weakest track. Sorry but that Kill La Kill OP is the most painfully generic anime song I’ve heard all year. Other than that, most of the tracks are worth going back to.
