music review: LUNA SEA – The End of the Dream/Rouge

cover

Someone please teach Ryuchi how to control his vibrato. Aside from that minor issue, wow!

This is a great single! The End of the Dream starts out with a bang, I mean holy shit, definitely wasn’t expecting that! What a start it is. Listening to this, I can’t wait for the upcoming album if that’s the style they’re going for. Feels like the song is a tad short but it’s very satisfying. I was a bit turned off with the rodeo style guitar play in Rouge but it grew on me after 2 listens. Once again Sugizo displays more of his signature guitar solos. Great song. Damn good single overall! These guys have everything on track and keep their promises unlike a certain so-called legendary band. That’s right, I’m staring at you X Japan.
